Privacy Policy

Short version: the only personal information this site collects is what you type into the contact form, and it is used to reply to you. Nothing else.

This policy explains how martinworks.org, run by Martin De Lange trading as MartinWorks ("I" or "me"), handles your information. If anything here is unclear, email me at martin@martinworks.org.

Who is responsible

Martin De Lange, an independent 3D artist and designer based in South Africa, operating as MartinWorks. I am the responsible party for any personal information collected through this site, as that term is used in the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What the contact form collects

The contact form on the contact page asks for your name, your email address, the kind of work you are enquiring about, and your message. That is all of it. There is no account to create and no newsletter sign-up.

I use that information for one purpose: to read your enquiry and reply to it. I do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone for marketing. Enquiries stay in my email so I can keep track of ongoing conversations and past projects.

What the site does not do

• No analytics. There is no analytics or tracking script running on this site. I do not know who visits, or which pages you read.
• No cookies set by me. This site sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing in your browser.
• No advertising and no trackers. Nothing here profiles you or follows you to other sites.
• No account required to browse anything, including the downloads.

Things your browser contacts anyway

Two ordinary parts of running a website still involve someone else seeing a request from you, and you should know about them:

• Google Fonts. The typefaces load from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads. Fonts are all it is used for here.
• Web hosting. The site is hosted on Afrihost shared hosting. Like any web server, it keeps standard access logs that include IP addresses, for security and diagnostics. I do not use those logs to identify or profile visitors.

Downloads

The free app offered on the shop page is downloaded straight from this site. Nothing is registered, and no personal information is needed to get it. The app runs entirely on your own computer and does not send your files to me.

How long I keep things

Enquiry emails are kept while the conversation is active and for as long afterwards as I need them for my records of work done. If you would rather I did not keep yours, say so and I will delete it.

Your rights under POPIA

You can ask me at any time to tell you what personal information of yours I hold, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. Email martin@martinworks.org and I will act on it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Children

This site is aimed at people commissioning creative work and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Any material change will be reflected here rather than announced separately.
