SocialCast Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 July 2026

Short version: SocialCast runs entirely on your own computer. Your accounts and videos stay on your device, and I never see them.

This policy explains how SocialCast, a free desktop app made by Martin De Lange (trading as MartinWorks, "I" or "me"), handles your information, including data you reach through Google and YouTube. If anything here is unclear, email me at martin@martinworks.org.

Who runs SocialCast

SocialCast is built and distributed by Martin De Lange, an independent creator based in South Africa, through the website martinworks.org. There is no company server behind it and no cloud account to create.

SocialCast is a local app

SocialCast installs and runs on your own Windows computer. When you edit and render a video, it happens on your machine. When you publish, your computer connects directly to the platform you chose. I do not operate any server that receives, stores, or processes your videos or your account data.

The information SocialCast uses

Google and YouTube data

If you choose to connect YouTube, Google asks you to sign in and grant permission using the youtube.upload scope. SocialCast requests only the narrowest access it needs:

SocialCast's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. SocialCast uses YouTube API Services; by connecting YouTube you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and you can read the Google Privacy Policy.

Revoking access and deleting data

You are in control at all times:

Other platforms

SocialCast can also connect to services such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn. Those connections work the same way: any credentials stay encrypted on your device and are used only to publish the content you choose. Each platform has its own privacy policy that governs the data it holds.

Children

SocialCast is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I will update the date at the top of this page. Because SocialCast keeps your data on your own device, changes here will always be about clarity rather than new data collection.
